Swimming Carnival

Here are a few recounts of the Swimming Carnival. I was impressed by the wonderful use of descriptive language.

Rose
When our teacher opened the blue coral gate we went in. When it was my turn I got butterflies in my tummy. We sat on the bumpy white edge. When I got in the water it felt like a long drink on a summer day.

Angus
The heat dashed on me like a bomb was exploding on my back. I saw the water. I was dying to get in the water. I heard the megaphone yell out "if you have got a one on your hand please line up here". I did not go in number one. Finally it called out number four. I got in. I was muttering "I am speed" to myself.

Cheralyn
I saw the hot sun's reflection on the shimmering water. I felt the freezing water in my first race. I heard peopl shouting forother people. they were noisy and loud and all the noise gave me a headache.

Jayden
It was ahot day and the sun was burning hot. I wanted to go for a drink. Then I was happy because I had a chance to get in the water. It was as cold as a bottle of freezing cold ice. I went in three races. It was amazing. Everyone was having fun and so was I.
